In 2022, Danubius University will host the Phenomenal Women series

Among the events that Danubius University will host next year to mark the 30th anniversary of its founding are a series of public presentations by extraordinary women from around the world, called the Phenomenal Women Series.

The first event in this series will take place on Friday, January 21, 2022, in the Great Hall of Danubius University, and the first guest to open this series is Claudia Victoria Nicolae, general manager of the AGERPRES Press Agency. Mrs. Nicolae is the first woman to lead AGERPRES, the oldest news agency in Romania and the first autonomous agency in the country. Claudia Nicolae leads the fight to maintain a free and objective press that presents the truth and that works for the whole society, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age or political preferences.

Claudia Nicolae graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Hyperion University, took postgraduate courses in Foreign Policy and Diplomacy, but also in Security and Good Governance. She was an editor at Independent ,, and at Agerpres, the first national agency. Claudia Nicolae also held the position of adviser to the Minister of Interior from June to November 2018.

How to Live 100 years and Look Like Being 99

Saturday, December 4, starting with 10 A.M., at “Danubius” University, a workshop on health and longevity is scheduled to take place, being hosted by Dr. Alina Păduraru. The event is dedicated to the Danubian students who will be able to participate either in person or online, connected on the e-learning platform. Dr. Alina Păduraru has a Ph.D. in Imunology from the Imperial College of London. She returned to Romania wishing to diseminate her knowledge in a funny, easy and dynamic, intimidating, what’s this? why do I need it? Oh, my God! manner, as she herself would say.

New Cooperation Agreement Enables International Collaboration Between Danubius University and Michigan State University, USA

The International Relations Department of Danubius University  is pleased to announce a new international cooperation agreement between Danubius University and  Michigan State University, USA. The ceremonial signing of the agreement between William B. Harvey, Rector of Danubius University, and Linda Sheryl Greene, Dean of MSU College of Law, took place on November 10 at the Law College in East Lansing, Michigan.

This international cooperation agreement between Danubius University and MSU lays the groundwork for the students and faculty of both schools to engage in deeper international engagement and explore new possibilities for joint projects, faculty and student mobilities, and other endeavors.

With his appointment in January 2021, Rector Harvey is the first American to serve as the head of a Romanian University. Prior to that appointment, Rector Harvey has been a professor at the University of Virginia, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and North Carolina A&T University. As Rector, he has focused on expanding Danubius University’s connections within the international community and brings a lifetime of experience in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion to his role.

Dean Linda Greene joined the MSU College of Law in June 2021. Before joining MSU, Dean Greene was the Evjue Bascom Professor of Law at the Univeristy of Wisconsin-Madison, where she also served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Along with building diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the Law College, Dean Greene has demonstrated a commitment to the Law College’s international programs and outreach.

The mission of the International Relations Department is to develop and implement the Internationalization Strategy of Danubius University as well as to promote its international profile as a forum for education, science and culture in Romania, Europe and in the entire world.

Forin Nini Became part of the Romanian Basketball Team’s Staff

Florin Nini, Executive Director of Danubius University Sports Club, was appointed assistant coach of the national masculine basketball team.

“My nomination in the staff of the Romanian team, makes me feel proud, being for me both a joy and an honor. I consider this appointment to be a professional recognition of my career. It’s the second time for me in the technical team. We are at the beginning of the qualification campaign within which we are to meet Luxembourg and Albania. The first match is scheduled to take place on the 28th of November, a difficult one that must be prepared with seriousness as we have, as wishes and objectives, victory and qualification from the first place. We have a valuable lot, one of perspective, a nucleus of Romanian players who confirmed in the national championship, making us trustful in the future results”, Florin Nini told us.
