The Magic of the Holidays at DIU: Tradition and Joy at the Student Christmas Party

The Student Christmas Party, held at the Senior Club, offered a remarkable experience, successfully combining social interaction, creativity, and the authentic festive atmosphere. Students were welcomed with interactive activities – ranging from themed workshops dedicated to Santa Claus to the creation of festive decorations – all contributing to a warm, communal setting deeply rooted in the spirit of Christmas.

The evening concluded on a vibrant and emotional note with a collective session of karaoke and caroling, emphasizing the sense of community and shared joy. A surprise raffle added an extra layer of excitement, transforming the event into a memorable occasion for all attendees. The overall atmosphere was distinguished by elegance, enthusiasm, and active participation, once again demonstrating the importance of initiatives aimed at strengthening the spirit of the academic community.

Distinction Awarded to the President of the Board of Directors, Dr. Andy Pușca, at the Leadership Excellence Gala

At the prestigious CONAF Leadership Excellence Gala, the“Award for Excellence in Leadership,” granted for the South-East Region of Romania to the President of the Board of Directors, Dr. Andy Pușca, stands as a professional and academic recognition of his managerial vision and of his essential role in strengthening the institutional profile of Danubius International University.


At the event, Dr. Andy Pușca was accompanied by the Rector & CEO, Dr. Steve O. Michael, the Vice-Rector, Dr. Alina Beatrice Răileanu, and the Director of the Department for Student Relations and Professional Development, Victoria Onofrei.

In his address delivered on this occasion, Dr. Andy Pușca highlighted the historical and community dimension of the institution’s development: “Danubius International University represents a community that began the construction of a private university 33 years ago—a process we continue to this day. We are profoundly grateful to our colleagues and students, past and present, whose dedication and trust have shaped this journey.”

DIU Strengthens Its International Visibility through the CIRET Observatory for Law and Transdisciplinarity

Prof. PhD Cristina Elena Popa Tache, Dean of the Faculty of  International Governance and Law, has been appointed Director of the CIRET Observatory for Law and Transdisciplinarity (International Observatory for Law and Transdisciplinarity – IOLT), within the International Center for Transdisciplinary Research and Studies (CIRET, Paris).

Climate Litigation and the Transformations of International Law

Monday, 15 December, starting at 2:00 PM, during the International Law course and seminar, we will host a special lecture dedicated to a highly topical subject: the role of civil society in shaping international law, with a particular focus on climate litigation as an example of how international law is evolving today.

Guest: Dr Federica Cristani, Head of the Centre for International Law and senior researcher at the Institute of International Relations, Prague. Her outstanding expertise covers fields such as state responsibility in international law, international economic law, international law of cyberspace, gender policies, and the dynamics of subregional groups in Europe.
