Anniversary of the Danubius International University – Tradition, Identity, and Academic Vision

The Danubius International University celebrated its anniversary with a festive event held in the Aula Magna, bringing together members of the academic community, distinguished guests, and institutional partners. The program commenced with the official opening and the screening of the documentary “ANNIVERSARY OF DANUBIUS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – THEN AND NOW – ABOUT US, THE DANUBIANS!”, which highlighted the university’s evolution and the defining milestones of its academic journey. The anniversary address delivered by Dr. Andy Pușca, President of the Board of Administration, was marked by a warm and reflective tone, evoking the defining stages of the university’s development and emphasizing the fundamental values that shape its identity — excellence, responsibility, and academic cohesion — as well as the enduring contribution of the university to the advancement of the educational and professional environment.

One of the most notable moments of the event was the intervention of Dr. Steve O. Michael, Rector & CEO of DIU, who delivered a deeply moving anniversary speech, reflecting on the university’s development, its achievements, and the values that define its identity. His address highlighted the importance of academic solidarity, visionary leadership, and intercultural dialogue in shaping a modern and dynamic educational environment.

The event concluded with anniversary messages from the guests, underlining the relevance and impact of Danubius International University within the landscape of higher education. The solemn yet festive atmosphere consecrated the occasion as a celebration of continuity, institutional maturity, and the ongoing aspiration toward academic excellence and recognition.
