Leaders of DIU attended the European Forum of Entrepreneurship 2025

Dr. Steve O. Michael, Rector of DIU, Dr. Andy Pusca, President of the Administrative Board, Dr. Alina Raileanu, Vice-Rector for Business and Administration and Dr. Emanuel Marinescu, Director of the Global Affairs Department, attended the XVIII International Scientific Conference: European Forum of Entrepreneurship (EFP 2025), which took place on February 6, 2025, in the historic city of Prague. This annual event serves as a vital meeting point for scholars, practitioners, and innovators to advance the frontiers of knowledge and address the pressing challenges of our times. The conference themes—Smart Life, Smart Business, and Smart Education—reflect the evolving intersection of technology, sustainability, and education in shaping a better future.

Dr. Steve O Michael, Rector & CEO Danubius International University, was a keynote speaker and honorary guest to the European Entrepreneurship Forum 2025 (EFP 2025), 2025), which was held under the patronage of the Mayor of Prague.
Dr. Steve Michael gave a keynote speech on “ LIFE: How Smart Education and Smart Entrepreneurship are Changing the World ”, in the plenary session of this international scientific event.

EFP 2025 was co-organized with international partners, including Yuan Ze University in Taiwan and Danubius International University in Romania, bringing together diverse expertise and perspectives to ensure a rich, interdisciplinary exchange. The forum explored the transformative potential of emerging technologies, innovative business models, and sustainable strategies. Drawing inspiration from global dialogues on topics such as smart cities, intelligent urban transport systems, and industrial evolution, the conference spotlighted actionable insights for creating climate-resilient and socially equitable futures. Discussions incorporated a multidisciplinary approach, weaving together innovative technologies, managerial practices, and creative frameworks to enhance learning and collaboration across diverse sectors.

 

 


New Educational Partnerships with Universities in Africa

UID Rector, Dr. Steve O. Michael and Dr. Andy Pușca, President of the Administrative Board of UID visited Bingham University where they signed the Erasmus Agreement with the Rector (CEO) of the University. Bingham University was founded in 2005, but already has 7 faculties and more than 80 academic programs.  Bingham University is enthusiastic about developing its partnership with Danubius International University.

After Bingham, they visited Cosmopolitan University.  This private university is headed by a British chancellor. Although relatively young, the university is making a difference in engineering, IT, computing and data management.

Following working meetings with representatives of the National Universities Council and the Council for Vice Chancellors, was discussed the possibility of collaborating to establish a training program for university administrators at all levels.

In Lagos, Dr. Michael and Dr. Pusca met with Dr. Folasade Ogunsola, a specialist in infectious diseases, who is the first female rector in the institution's more than 75-year history. The event was attended by professor Ismail Ibraheem, director of international programs, deputy chief secretary, Dr. Obaro, Dr. Andy Pusca and Dr. Steve O. Michael. The University of Lagos (Unilag) expresses its support for our interests in the educational programs we are developing and declares its willingness to collaborate with Danubius International University.

 

 

 

 


Recognition, Excellence, and Community – Danubius International University

The end of the year brought joy and gratitude to the Danubius community, marking a special moment through the much-anticipated event, the "Danubius X-Mas Party." More than just a festive gathering, this event celebrated the passion, dedication, and remarkable efforts that defined 2024.

During the festivities, awards were presented to those who excelled in various fields, highlighting the notable achievements of the community:

UNIT OF THE YEAR: The Department of Projects and European Funding and the Secretariat Department were honored for their operational excellence and outstanding results.

STAFF OF THE YEAR: The Rectorate and the Financial Department were recognized for their professionalism and significant contributions to the institution's success.

  • Professor of the Year 2024, Danubius International University: Prof. Filofteia Repez, Ph.D.
  • Department for Teacher Training (D.P.P.D.): Lecturer Aurel Marin Drămnescu, Ph.D.

PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR (DISTANCE LEARNING DEPARTMENT): Lecturer Vanina Botezatu, Ph.D., was recognized for innovative approaches and exceptional support for students in distance learning.

RESEARCHER OF THE YEAR: Prof. habil. Cristinel Munteanu, Ph.D., and Prof. Alina Cristina Nuță, Ph.D., received awards for their outstanding contributions to research, enhancing the university’s academic prestige.
