The “Steps Toward the Future” Educational Fair – A Concrete Step Toward Academic Orientation for High School Students

Danubius International University organized the educational fair Steps Toward the Future with openness and professionalism, an event dedicated to final-year high school students. The primary objective of this initiative was to facilitate direct contact between students and the academic environment, while creating a framework in which young people could more clearly define their educational and professional paths. The high level of student participation and the strong interest expressed highlight the continued need for such formative and guidance-oriented initiatives.

Throughout the day, participants engaged with faculty representatives, academic staff, students, and educational counselors, gaining firsthand insights into the academic offerings of Danubius International University. The event fostered an open, authentic, and constructive dialogue about university options, career prospects, and the evolving role of higher education in a rapidly changing society. The active and enthusiastic involvement of the students added vibrancy and relevance to the overall experience.

By organizing this event, Danubius International University reaffirms its commitment to quality education and to supporting young people in their orientation and personal development processes. Steps Toward the Future was more than just an educational fair—it served as a bridge between the present of high school students and their academic and professional potential. The Rector of DIU participated at the mock court trial of a crime with students from Law School

As the Rector of Danubius International University, I have no greater joy than to witness good teaching and student transformation in real time. The premier school of the University, the School of Law under Dean Ana Alina Ionescu Dumitrache and Professor Ion Rusu organized a mock court trial of a crime with students acting out all the roles. The hosts of the mock trial at the Galati High Court included Honorable Judge, Mr Doru Benescu, the President of the Court of Apeal Galati, Mr. Judge Florin Dumitru - Criminal Section of the Court of Apeal Galati, Ms. Laura Meirosu., Prosecutor, Mr. Ciprian Baciu - Vice Dean of The Lawyers Barr of Galați, police officers from the penitentiary of Galați- Mr. Florin Proca, Mrs. Enache Camelia - Detention Center of Tichilesti- Brăila and Mrs. Emanuela Iorga - Chief of Probation Service of Galati.

All these professionals contributed their valuable time to observe student performances and provide full feedback to each of the actors.

We concluded the day with a lunch at the C-Cafe where students were able to continue their conversation with some of the legal luminaries of Galati. The unique strengths of our Law School will continue to be demonstrated by our eclectic pedagogical approaches that include classroom theories, real court observations, practical mock trials, mentoring by legal professionals, and planned comprehensive interactions with the judicial systems. Indeed, it takes a good legal community to cultivate and educate a good legal professional. We invite you to join.
