Student of the Month - May

TEODORESCU FLORIN CORNEL

He is a first year student at Danubius College, specialization Cameraman – Photojournalist.

"Seeing is in itself a creative act", says Henri Matisse. What it is important is to keep our eyes wide open. Everything around us can be a source of inspiration. Creativity consists in seeing things in a new form, knowing how to listen, following your intuition and I would add a determining element: passion, which is the motivation that pushes us to do things with our heart and put ourselves at the center of everything we achieve.

Investing in yourself, in the passions and things that bring you pleasure, offers a lot of satisfaction and joy. The desire to improve myself, to keep up with everything that is new, the curiosity and especially the love for photography and image determined me to enroll in Danubius College. And I was inspired, because here I found a friendly, professional, positive environment, conducive to developing new projects and materializing new ideas.

I have already collaborated with the multimedia department. I contributed to filming and creating the presentation clip of Danubius College, I was the photographer of several events held at the University and I hope that, in the future, I will take part in as many special events as possible, I will be able to make a positive contribution to them and leave my personal mark on them.

Photography, after chess, is the greatest love. The two of them are related to the vision you need to put them into practice. Chess, after years of work and study, gave me the satisfaction of a FIDE master's title that I am very proud of! My passion for photography came naturally many years ago, when I was exploring the omnipresent beauty of Italy, a country that adopted me for twenty years. Its beauty deserved to be captured and immortalized not just with the eyes and soul. From here, there followed many special experiences, in which photography was in the foreground.

What I have learned, captured, materialized from the courses and collaborations with the multimedia department I am already applying in my work as a video director. I recommend Danubius College for the opportunities, openness, high-level professional and human experience, for the relaxed atmosphere, for the way you feel from the very first moment that you are part of a family!

Thank you, Danubius!

Student of the Month - April

Georgiana-Sabina Rusescu

Rusescu Georgiana-Sabina is a 2nd year student at the Faculty of Communication and International Relations, specializing in Communication and Public Relations, a student who wishes to nurture her thirst for information in as many fields as possible.

Before attending university studies, Sabina studied at a post-secondary school in the city of Brăila, as a pharmacy assistant, but after this she told us that: “I realized that it did not suit me. I decided to take a break in order to find myself and then, one day, I decided I wanted to go to univeristy and I did not want to go too far away, therefore I went to see Danubius University programs.

I was somewhere between Communication and Psychology. I chose Communication and Public Relations because I felt that it fit me like a glove, I felt that  was what I wanted to do and here I am.”

For Sabina, the teacher-student relationship is very important, as it motivates her to have the best results and she says about it that: “I want to believe that I get along very well with all academics, the thing I really appreciate about them is that they always consider us as being equals."

Sabina is an eminent student, eager to learn as many new things as possible. To the question "What is her favorite subject?", the young woman found it difficult to choose a single subject, her answer being:

"Many of the subjects fit me perfectly, my favorites were Introduction to the Media System, Introduction to Public Relations, Introduction to Advertising and Advertising Discourse Analysis, Multimedia and the list goes on."

Sabina told us that students should choose Danubius University, because “it is a very good environment where they can develop both as a student and as a person. It is the place where I managed to overcome certain fears and barriers. I wanted to have a complete student experience when I came here, that is why I chose to join the Students’ League, to meet new people, to get involved in beautiful projects.”

The young woman is passionate about reading and told us that: “Every year I set a goal in this regard, this year I set 25 books and I have already read 9 of them. I love to produce content of any kind, whether it is about photography, articles written on my blog (which turned 8 this year), or videos for my YouTube channel (which turns 5). I also love traveling and listening to my friends, give them advice, being considered the on-duty psychologist.”

When it comes about the future, the student mentions that: “it is a question that I honestly run away from, I don't know what the future holds for me. The only thing I want is that, whatever I choose to do next, to be something that makes her happy. What I surely know is that I still want to work online, especially on YouTube, where I want to gather a community as large as possible, currently being over 3000.

Student of the Month - March

Mioara Șerban is first year student at the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations and she had chosen to study at "Danubius" University because "Danubius University helped me to discover my true value and the most important thing, never give up on my dreams".

Before attending the University, Mioara studied to become a general medical assistant, then, having a strong desire for a career in forensic science, she chose the "Faculty of Law" of Danubius University. But about this subject, she confessed: "Things can change, that's the only way we realize what we want from life, better sooner than later. What made me stop wasn't because of the teaching staff or my colleagues, either, the teaching staff are extremely well trained and I made connections with my colleagues, but I didn't find myself. At that point I felt I had to quit. I don't regret anything, because everything I learned helped me to enrich my knowledge."

The student also joined the Students League, getting involved in many University events, about which she told us that "Participating in the events organized by the University, and believe me there were many, I learned to make the most of my potential and to make the most of it. I am of the opinion that in life you have to experience as much as possible, learn as much as possible and want as much as possible. What happens next?  You discover your inner self.".

The young lady journey did not end, so after giving up the Faculty of Law, she decided to enroll in the Faculty of Communication and International Relations, specializing in Communication and Public Relations. She is currently part of the University's PR & Media Department, which makes her extremely successful at the moment. The young lady started this stage of her life through volunteer activities, actively participating in all events of interest. Mioara says that: “I discovered certain skills that I may not have known until then. Thanks to the new team or rather the family I joined, I "caught" wings, they made me love what I do, and even more I "grew up" together. I continue to be impressed every day, seeing with my own eyes the professionalism, the passion, the openness and the extremely vast baggage of knowledge that I have. ”

The student also promotes Danubius University on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and writes articles about the events that take place at the University. He told us about these activities: “I can't say that it is very difficult, but it is not easy either because you always have to know what the future students want to know, but also the current students from a University. I try as much as possible to use my dynamism and openness to students by unraveling their little secrets, socializing and keeping in touch with them. As for writing articles for the University website, this is not new to me. I have a personal blog, but I admit, lately I have neglected my audience, but I am about to develop a new project, which I have been thinking about for a long time. Writing is a talent is the ability to convey feelings, to manifest, to be me. ”

Mioara characterizes herself as a creative, comprehensive, sometimes emotional, but open to  new. He loves photography, videography, art in the true sense of the word and wants to develop these passions as well.

Mioara Serban combines her passion for beauty with her profession as a communicator, managing to integrate what she learns within the Faculty of Communication and International Relations with what she practices, day by day, in the PR & MEDIA department, where she benefits from the support and experience of her colleagues, former Danubius University  students, Lucian Panait and Constantin Lepadatu, who are professionals in the field of visual communication.

What makes the student of communication go further, confident that she can succeed in life, is her belief that: “Life is so short, simple, beautiful, and we are the ones who get in the way. Sometimes things didn't work out the way I wanted them to. I have always been eager to learn new things, to learn as much as possible and to discover myself. This makes me always remember the saying "you are the result of all your deeds". You have to fight for what you want, for happiness, for love, for your dreams. ”

Cosmina Mioara Tenie – A Future Ludicrous Psychologist

Cosmina Mioara Tenie, a freshman of the School of Psychology and Biomedicine, chose “Danubius” University to be her alma mater as in the past she used to be on the same halls, times she recollects to have been “some of the best in her life”.

My first major was Economic Sciences and Business Administration.“I remember dearly of that time as both colleagues and teachers created an environment meant for me to attend classes with pleasure. I loved to answer to questions put in courses and seminars and I felt no stress at all”, she told us.

What she appreciated the most was the fact that the University put at their disposal the opportunity of student exchange, special places where they could rest between classes, and especially the fact that the teachers were really coping with all their problems.

“Welcome home!” she was told when she brought in the registration folder for entering a domain she was attracted to and that was prone to help her grow in the desired direction.

The student has got involved in the University’s projects ever since her first interaction with “Danubius” and continues to do so: “I contributed, among others, at editing an economical dictionary, and now, when being a Psychology freshman, I debuted as a singer, singing at a private, internal, event. Moreover, I was invited to sing in a charitable event that took place within the University – an event that made me extremely happy and fulfilled a great wish of mine”.

Cosmina says that “if one wishes an academic life as presented in the movies, being a Danubian student provides one with such an experience due to the friendly environment, open to help one grow.” Plus, “you are not forced to study, you are determined and satisfaction is on the level”, she confessed.

The student is passionate about music. She took canto lessons, but also practices by herself, trying to be better and better. “It’s a hobby I have always loved, but which I have put into practice only recently. That’s why I can say that I am at the beginnings and I have a lot to learn”, she told us.

The young woman says she is a positive, full-of-life person. She likes to be always up-to-date and to learn new stuff. She is open to challenges and has always new ideas, having great people alongside.

At last, Cosmina told us that she wants to bring happiness and good will there where needed, as she struggles to share time, happiness and joy with everyone around.
