Romanian researchers from American universities, present at the TDST International Conference

The organizers and partners of the International Scientific Conference "Two Democratic Societies in Transition: Exploring the Dynamics of a Post-Covid World" – TDST (http://www.conferences.univ-danubius.ro/index.php/TDST/TDS2021/schedConf/overview) are pleased to announce the confirmation to participate in the thematic sections of two American academic personalities of Romanian origin: Dr. Gabriela Mustata Wilson (University of Texas - Arlington) and Dr. Oana Armeanu (University of Southern Indiana).

Dr. Gabriela Mustață Wilson is a professor at the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at the University of Texas - Arlington. She is an internationally recognized specialist in the field of health informatics and is also the director of the Center for Medical Informatics at the University of Texas - Arlington. She is an acomplished scientist holding a number of positions in American associations including the prestigious National Academy of Inventors. As she told us, her entire career is one of caring and serving others by motivating and inspiring to help everyone achieve their own goals.

At the conference on September 13-15, she will give a lecture entitled The Silent Killer: How the Epidemic of Misinformation and Low Health Literacy Affected the Response to COVID-19.

Dr. Oana Armeanu is an expert in political science, international relations and comparative politics. Among the research topics we mention: welfare state reform, political parties, elections and democratization. She is currently the Chair of Political Science, Public Administration and Philosophy Department. She is the author of numerous reference studies, and her latest published books include The Politics of Pension Reform in Central and Eastern Europe. Political Parties, Coalitions, and Policies.

In our conference, she will give a lecture on Political polarization, legitimacy, and the rule of law.

Thus, the two scientific personalities return to their homeland to share the American experience with Romanian students, professors and researchers. It is a great opportunity to learn something about the work behind a successful academic career in the United States, a highly competitive academic and scientific environment.
