Faculty of Law and International Governance – Member of the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN)

We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Law and International Governance, represented by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Cristina Elena POPA TACHE, has been accepted free of charge as a member of the international academic network OCEAN (Open Council of Europe Academic Networks), an initiative of the Council of Europe bringing together prestigious universities and research institutions from around the world: OCEAN Member Database.

About OCEAN

OCEAN is the Council of Europe’s academic platform designed to create a space for dialogue and cooperation between academia and European institutions by:

  • promoting academic excellence in the fields of law, democracy, and governance;
  • facilitating the exchange of good practices and educational resources;
  • integrating the European dimension into teaching and research activities;
  • strengthening the international network of partnerships between faculties of law and research institutes.

Advantages of OCEAN Membership

According to the official presentation of the Council of Europe, membership in this network offers the following benefits:

  • international visibilitythrough inclusion in the official OCEAN database;
  • access to information and resourceson Council of Europe activities, including academic and training materials;
  • the opportunity to publish announcements and calls(calls for contributions, conferences, events) on the OCEAN platform, accessible to the international academic community;

  • Beginning with the next academic year, our curriculum will include the free online HELP coursesdeveloped by the Council of Europe, thus enhancing our students’ training to European standards: HELP Course Catalogue.

International Academic Opportunity: ISV Summer School in Italy – Inclusion and Sustainability in Vulnerability, with Full Funding for Selected Participants

The Danubius International University is pleased to support the promotion of an outstanding academic opportunity: participation in the International Summer School on “Inclusion and Sustainability in Vulnerability (ISV): A Transdisciplinary Approach”, which will take place between 15–21 September 2025, in Norcia (Perugia), Italy.

This program is organized within the framework of the European project HRJust – Intersecting Human Rights, Inclusion and Sustainability, in collaboration with distinguished international partners. Participation is entirely free of charge – all travel, accommodation, and meal expenses will be fully covered by the organizers for all selected candidates.

About the Program

The ISV Summer School aims to provide a space for academic reflection and interdisciplinary exchange on the themes of social vulnerability, inclusion, and sustainability. The program adopts a transdisciplinary approach, combining legal, social, political, economic, and humanistic perspectives. It is designed for young professionals and recent graduates who aspire to contribute actively to the development of a more equitable and inclusive society.

Over the course of an intensive one-week program, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend lectures and interactive workshops delivered by international scholars and practitioners;
  • Acquire cross-cutting competencies related to human rights, inclusion policies, and sustainable development.

Eligibility Criteria

The program is open to all young individuals holding a Bachelor's degree, regardless of their field of study. Graduates of Danubius International University – from all faculties – are strongly encouraged to apply, especially those interested in engaging with socially impactful international projects.

Only 20 participants will be selected at the European level, making this a highly competitive and prestigious opportunity.
