Contemporary Academic Debate: The Webinar “Legal Aspects of Climate Change,” Organized by the Faculty of Law and International Governance

The School of International Governance and Law successfully hosted the webinar entitled “Legal Aspects of Climate Change,” an event organized and moderated by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache.

The online meeting brought together approximately 40 participants, reflecting the growing interest among the academic community, legal practitioners, and the wider public in one of the most significant legal and institutional challenges of the 21st century: climate change and its impact on the contemporary legal order.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Chamu Kuppuswamy, Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire and a recognized expert in international law, global governance, and environmental law. Her presentation highlighted current developments concerning state obligations, climate litigation, governance mechanisms, and emerging directions in legal liability related to climate change.

Through this event, the Faculty reaffirmed the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue, international cooperation, and critical legal reflection on ongoing global transformations.

The Faculty extends its gratitude to all those interested in this highly topical issue, and especially to the participants for their presence and active engagement.
