Leadership Structure of the School of International Governance & Law— A New Stage in Institutional Development

Within the School of International Governance & Law, a new leadership team has been established, aiming to ensure continuity and the advancement of academic and research programs at a high standard of excellence. The position of Interim Dean is held by Associate Professor Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache (https://univ-danubius.ro/media/attachments/2019/08/08/popa-tache-cristina-elena.pdf ), a faculty member with extensive expertise in the field of law, actively engaged in scholarly activities and research projects with international impact. The coordination of the Department of Public and Private Law is entrusted to Lecturer Dr. Iulian Savenco (https://univ-danubius.ro/media/attachments/2019/08/08/iulian-savenco.pdf ) , a recognized specialist in public law and contemporary legal institutions.

Furthermore, Associate Professor Dr. Florinel Iftode (https://univ-danubius.ro/media/attachments/2019/08/29/iftode-florin-en.pdf ) serves as Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, contributing through his expertise to strengthening the faculty’s interdisciplinary profile and fostering international academic collaboration. This renewed leadership structure reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting excellence in education and research by capitalizing on the professional and academic competencies of its faculty members and by fostering strategic partnerships and innovative projects.

Danubius International University – Strategic Meeting for the Preparation of the 2025–2026 Academic Year

On September 19, the academic and administrative leadership of Danubius International University convened in a setting dedicated to reflection and planning, with the aim of outlining the strategic directions for the 2025–2026 academic year. The agenda of the meeting included the analysis of institutional priorities, the establishment of objectives for academic and research development, as well as presentations delivered by deans and department directors regarding projects and initiatives for the upcoming period.

 

The event was further distinguished by the participation of the international guest, Dr. Kenneth Cushner, Professor at Kent State University (Ohio, USA), who provided a global perspective on the challenges and opportunities in higher education. Through dialogue and collaboration, Danubius International University reaffirms its commitment to delivering excellence in education and to preparing professionals who are competitive, innovative, and attuned to the demands of a rapidly changing world.

Participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Governance at the ESIL Annual Conference 2025 – Berlin

The Faculty of Law and International Governance is pleased to announce the participation of Associate Professor Cristina Elena Popa Tache, PhD, Dean of the Faculty, in the Annual Conference of the European Society of International Law (ESIL), held these days in Berlin.

As Co-Chair of the Interest Group on International Business and Human Rights (IG IBHR), Associate Professor Cristina Elena Popa Tache co-organised and moderated the dedicated session within the official programme of the ESIL Interest Groups. Furthermore, in her capacity as advisor to the Diversity Advisory Body (DAB) of ESIL, Associate Professor Cristina Elena Popa Tache contributed to the co-organisation of the special event “International Law Publishing and ‘EDI’: Limits, Blindspots, and Alternatives”, a Lunchtime Event hosted by the ESIL Diversity Advisory Body, held in the Senate Room of Freie Universität Berlin. International Conference “Perspectives of Business Law in the Third Millennium”

The 15th International Conference “Perspectives of Business Law in the Third Millennium” will be held online on 14 November 2025. The event is listed on the OCEAN Bulletin Board as an upcoming event and Call for Papers announcement: https://www.coe.int/en/web/open-academic-networks/home.

The conference is jointly organized by:

  • University of Málaga, Faculty of Law (Spain),
  • Danubius International University, Faculty of Law and International Governance (Romania), and
  • The Society of Juridical and Administrative Sciences (Adjuris).

The event has established itself as a platform for international scientific dialogue, focusing on the evolution and perspectives of business law in the third millennium. It brings together academics, researchers, PhD students, and legal practitioners, with sections dedicated to: Council of Europe’s Mission and Conventions, Public Law, Private Law, as well as European Union & International Law.

Keynote Speakers will be:

  • Dra. María Isabel Torres Cazorla (Professor of Public International Law and International Relations / Vice Dean of International Relations and Institutional Outreach, University of Málaga),
