The Professions Marathon event, held at the Brăila Education Trade Union, represented an educational framework dedicated to professional orientation in the legal field, bringing together specialists, university faculty members, students, and pupils. The meeting addressed essential aspects of several legal professions, including legal advisor, court clerk, lawyer, mediator, and notary public. Notary Iulian Mitescu delivered a presentation focused on his professional experience accumulated since 2004, emphasizing the fundamental role of education in choosing a legal career.

The event was attended by students enrolled in the Psychology and Law programs at DIU, alongside pupils from the “Nicolae Bălcescu” National College, the D. P. Perpessicius National Pedagogical College, and the “Panait Cerna” Theoretical High School in Brăila, who benefited from an interactive dialogue with professionals in the field. The organization of the event was coordinated by Ms. Gica Ceauș, Head of the Brăila Enrollment Center, in collaboration with CCOC and the Students’ League. Furthermore, Dr. Carmen Ion, university lecturer at DIU, moderated a discussion on the role and competencies of the legal advisor, while Dr. Radu Ștefănuț, university lecturer at DIU, highlighted the importance of mediation in the resolution of legal disputes. Assistant Professor PhD Candidate Camelia Aramă, Director of the Department of Recruitment and University Extensions, presented the educational offerings available to participating pupils, outlining concrete perspectives for academic and professional development.

The Director of the Department of Recruitment and University Outreach of Danubius International University, Assist. Univ. PhD Candidate Camelia Arama, carried out an initiative aimed at promoting the university’s educational offer at the “Gheorghe Munteanu Murgoci” Theoretical High School in Măcin. The meeting sought to inform students about the undergraduate and master’s degree programs, as well as the academic and professional opportunities provided by Danubius International University, including the support facilities designed to foster the development of competencies required for successful integration into the labor market.

Furthermore, the advantages of an educational pathway aligned with the contemporary demands of society and the knowledge-based economy were highlighted, with particular emphasis on the quality of the teaching and learning process, the internationalization of studies, and the pragmatic orientation of academic programs.

Within the framework of the Public International Law seminar of the School of International Governance and Law, an online lecture was held with the participation of Dr. Federica Cristani, Head of the Centre for International Law and Senior Researcher at the Institute of International Relations Prague, as well as co-founder and co-director of the Intersect Observatory (Horizon Europe – HRJust).

The event was opened by an institutional address delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aurelian Gabriel Uluitu, Vice-Rector for Didactic Activities and Scientific Research, and was conducted under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache, Dean of the School of International Governance and Law.

The discussion addressed topical issues relevant to modern international law, including state practices in justifying limitations on human rights, the relationship between crisis and exception, and the relevance of gender perspectives and intersectionality in legal analysis. The dialogue was linked to recent developments in European environmental, climate resilience, and governance policies, as reflected, inter alia, in the agenda of the European Union Environment Council.

The themes discussed are directly situated within the context of the European Union Environment Council meeting of 16 December 2025, at which environment ministers are expected to adopt conclusions on “The European Environment 2030 – building a more circular and resilient Europe,” based on the mid-term evaluation of the Eighth Environment Action Programme and the most recent report of the European Environment Agency, highlighting the urgency of strengthening climate resilience and advancing the transition to a circular economy.

The meeting provided an opportunity for applied reflection on the interconnection between legal research, university education, and European decision-making processes, reaffirming the importance of a critical and transdisciplinary approach in international law education.

Students enrolled in the Psychology and Social Work programs participated in a distinguished academic meeting with Rector & CEO, Steve O. Michael, together with the faculty’s academic staff. The event was opened by a speech delivered by the Rector, who highlighted the institution’s strategic directions, the role of higher education in professional formation, and the importance of students’ active engagement in the educational process. Subsequently, the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor PhD Nicu Ionel Sava, addressed the audience with a message focused on the specificities of the fields of Psychology and Social Work, emphasizing the social and ethical responsibility of future professionals.

The meeting was characterized by a high degree of interactivity, fostering open dialogue between students, the Rector, and faculty members. Students raised relevant questions regarding their academic pathways, professional development opportunities, and career prospects, to which the professors provided clear and well-founded responses. This exchange of ideas contributed to strengthening the relationship between students and academic leadership, underscoring the importance of institutional communication and active participation in university life.
