The 21st edition of the International Conference “European Integration – Realities and Perspectives” at Danubius International University (EIRP 2026)

Danubius International University organized on 15 May 2026 the 21st edition of the International Conference “European Integration – Realities and Perspectives” (EIRP), a long-standing academic landmark dedicated to interdisciplinary dialogue and international research cooperation. Held in a hybrid format, the event brought together academics, researchers, representatives of the business sector, and public authorities in an extensive exchange of ideas and perspectives regarding the contemporary challenges of education and global society. The central theme of this year’s edition — “Emergent Global Issues in Education: Rising to the Challenges and Embracing the Opportunities” — highlighted the need for innovative and sustainable approaches in addressing current global transformations.

Through the diversity of topics addressed — ranging from legal sciences, international relations, and green economy to psychology, FinTech, cybersecurity, and educational management — the conference underscored the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary research and strengthened Danubius International University’s position as a benchmark of academic excellence and scientific cooperation. The publication of papers in volumes and journals indexed in specialized databases reflects the relevance of the contributions presented at the event. At the same time, the academic dialogue and collaboration among participants emphasized the importance of innovation, knowledge exchange, and the development of academic partnerships in shaping new directions in education and research, in line with the challenges and dynamics of contemporary society.

Tactical Communication in Law Enforcement – Interdisciplinary Perspectives and Intervention Strategies within the International Symposium

The International Symposium “Tactical Communication in Law Enforcement”, held on May 14, 2026, in the Senate Hall of Danubius International University, represented an interdisciplinary academic forum dedicated to the analysis of communication mechanisms employed in the management of high-tension situations specific to the field of public order. The official opening of the event was conducted by the President of the Board of Administration, Associate Professor Andy Corneliu Pușcă, PhD, and the Rector of the University and CEO, Professor Steve O. Michael, PhD, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of developing tactical communication competencies in the context of contemporary challenges faced by law enforcement institutions. The symposium brought together specialists from the legal, psychological, and public order sectors, addressing topics such as the continuum of force, modern policing strategies, Aristotelian rhetoric, the dynamics of perception and emotion in operational interventions, as well as concepts including tactical empathy, transactional analysis, and interest-based negotiation.

During the plenary session dedicated to tactical communication, the keynote speakers delivered presentations focused on both the theoretical and practical dimensions of intervention in critical situations. Professor Țuțu Pișleag, PhD, addressed the topic “The Continuum of Force: From the Power of Words to Lethal Force”, highlighting the role of communication in preventing conflict escalation. Furthermore, Associate Professor Lăcrămioara Mocanu, PhD, psychologist, emphasized the importance of tactical empathy in crisis interventions, defining it as an essential strategic instrument for relationship-building and for enhancing the efficiency of operational actions. Through its interdisciplinary approach and the complexity of the themes discussed, the symposium underscored the relevance of persuasive communication and practice-oriented training in strengthening the intervention capacity of law enforcement structures.

Nomination to Tour d’Horizon of Literature 2025, Network for Transdisciplinary Research (td-net)

The Dean of the Faculty of International Governance and Law, Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache, has been nominated as a contributor to Tour d’Horizon of Literature 2025, a publication issued by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences – Network for Transdisciplinary Research (td-net). This inclusion reflects international recognition of her scholarly activity in the field of multi- and transdisciplinary research, further strengthening the visibility of her contributions within academic networks dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary dialogue and global scientific cooperation.

 

Starting with the next edition, Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache will propose for nomination researchers who have published relevant works in the field of multi- and transdisciplinarity, with the aim of expanding academic representation and consolidating the scientific contributions included in this internationally recognized initiative.

Prestigious European Recognition for the Leadership of the School  of International Governance and Law

Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache, Dean of the School of International Governance and Law, has been selected for inclusion on the European Parliament’s list of experts with academic and scientific experience for the provision of independent external expertise across various public policy fields, under the Call for Expressions of Interest EPRS/EVAL/SER/25/008CEI. Confirmed by the Directorate-General for Parliamentary Research Services of the European Parliament and valid until June 2030, this selection represents a highly prestigious academic and institutional recognition of the scientific and transdisciplinary work carried out over the years in the fields of international law, global governance, legal innovation, and interdisciplinary research.

 

This achievement highlights Dr. Cristina Elena Popa Tache’s significant contribution to the advancement of contemporary legal research and to the strengthening of the dialogue between academia and European institutions.
