Lyrical Expressivity in Two Languages: The Launch of Spirit Liber / Liberated Spirit by Bristena Georgiana Mantu

On Monday, March 16, 2026, at the “Benone Pușcă” University Library, the bilingual poetry volume Spirit Liber / Liberated Spirit by Bristena Georgiana Mantu was launched. The event, organized by the Department of Library, Publishing, and Knowledge Management, was part of a series of cultural initiatives aimed at promoting contemporary literary creation and fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between the academic sphere and the artistic domain.

The invited speakers, including literary critic Adrian George Secară, poet and editor Sterian Vicol, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alina Beatrice Cheșcă, Daniela Gumann, and writer-editor Claudiu-Gilian Chircu, explored both the aesthetic and thematic dimensions of the volume, analyzing the particularities of its bilingual Romanian–English poetic expression. Emphasis was placed on how translation and dual-language presentation facilitate the circulation of ideas and lyrical sensibility across cultural boundaries. The event concluded with a poetry recital by actor Vasile Dănilă, which highlighted the expressive potential of the poetic text through stage interpretation, providing the gathering with an authentic and interactive artistic dimension.
