International Conference “BRIDGING MINDS AND SOCIETIES: PSYCHOANTHROPOLOGY FOR PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIAL WORK”

The International Conference “BRIDGING MINDS AND SOCIETIES: PSYCHOANTHROPOLOGY FOR PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIAL WORK”, organized by Danubius International University, will take place on 14 March 2026 in a hybrid format. The event aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue among psychology, anthropology, and social work, providing an academic framework for the presentation and discussion of contemporary research relevant to understanding the relationship between the individual, culture, and society.

In line with these objectives and areas of interest, the conference proposes the following research themes:

  • Culture and the construction of the self
  • Emotional socialization across the life course
  • Critical perspectives on theories concerning the psychosocial profiles of colonized populations
  • Endogamy as a methodological and epistemological challenge in the study of historically marginalized communities
  • Work, productivity, and psychological experience
  • Bicultural identities and liminality
  • Psychosocial constructions of otherness within minority communities
  • Self-optimization and contemporary therapeutic cultures
  • Virtual communities and the experimentation of identity
  • Storytelling as a psychological and social practice
  • Advancing culturally sensitive assessment and intervention
  • Shifting analytical frameworks from individual pathology toward structural and systemic sources of psychological distress

Participants may deliver presentations in Romanian, English, or French and will have the opportunity to publish their papers in a special issue of the journal New Trends in Psychology. Participation and publication are free of charge, and abstracts may be submitted until 10 February 2026.

The First Issue of the Student Journal Gaudeamus – Journal of Law and International Governance

The publication of the first issue of the student journal Gaudeamus – Journal of Law and International Governance was marked by enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, academic responsibility, and a profoundly moving encounter between the student-authors and the practice of legal writing. The launch holds symbolic significance, representing the Faculty’s participation in the Danubius International University Day, which will be celebrated on February 13, at 12:00 p.m., in the Aula Magna.

School of Life Sciences and Human Development – Psychology and Social Work at Danubius International University

The School of Life Sciences and Human Development offers undergraduate programs focused on understanding and enhancing individual functioning and social relationships through the specializations of Psychology and Social Work. The Psychology program aims to train specialists capable of analyzing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes, while the Social Work program is centered on professional intervention in support of individuals, groups, and communities experiencing situations of social vulnerability.

Graduates of the Psychology specialization may pursue careers, in accordance with current legislation, as psychologists (following further training and professional accreditation), psychological counselors, human resources specialists, or researchers in the field of behavioral sciences, acquiring competencies such as critical thinking, psychological assessment skills, effective communication, and professional empathy.

Similarly, graduates of the Social Work program may hold positions such as social worker, social counselor, social policy expert, or case manager, developing competencies in social intervention, social problem analysis, social services management, and interdisciplinary collaboration, which are essential for promoting social inclusion and cohesion.

New International Academic Partnership for the World Conference – International Observatory for Law and Transdisciplinarity

The School of International Governance and Law is an official partner of the World Conference – International Observatory for Law and Transdisciplinarity, the inaugural edition of a large-scale international scientific event.

The conference is organized by the International Observatory for Law and Transdisciplinarity (IOLT), operating within CIRET Paris, a prestigious international scientific society, and will be held online on 28 April 2026. The event is envisioned as a global benchmark for academic reflection, debate, and transdisciplinary dialogue on the future of law.

The theme of the inaugural edition—“Researching Legal Futures”—establishes a unique academic platform at the global level, dedicated to international exchange of ideas and to the development of perspectives and solutions concerning the future orientation of legal research.
