Forin Nini Became part of the Romanian Basketball Team’s Staff

Florin Nini, Executive Director of Danubius University Sports Club, was appointed assistant coach of the national masculine basketball team.

“My nomination in the staff of the Romanian team, makes me feel proud, being for me both a joy and an honor. I consider this appointment to be a professional recognition of my career. It’s the second time for me in the technical team. We are at the beginning of the qualification campaign within which we are to meet Luxembourg and Albania. The first match is scheduled to take place on the 28th of November, a difficult one that must be prepared with seriousness as we have, as wishes and objectives, victory and qualification from the first place. We have a valuable lot, one of perspective, a nucleus of Romanian players who confirmed in the national championship, making us trustful in the future results”, Florin Nini told us.

„Danubius” University, Represented at a Conference Dedicated to the International Day of Philosophy

Taking after an agreeable cultural tradition, on the 18th of November, in Tecuci, philosopher’s Ion Petrovici hometown, an online conference occasioned by the International Day of Philosophy took place. The event was named “The Society’s Drifting, Crisis and Reinventing – Endeavors of Today’s Philosophy” and was organized by the Culture House in Tecuci, in partnership with the National College “Calistrat Hogaș”. Four professors, guests in the event, delivered interesting presentations: George Bondor (“Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași), Sandu Frunză (Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca), Cristinel Munteanu (“Danubius” University of Galați) and Daniel Mazilu (National College “Calistrat Hogaș”, Tecuci) who also came up with the idea of this scientific display.

Professor habil. Cristinel Munteanu presented a paper called “The Intellectual within the Society. Current Reflections out of José Ortega y Gasset”.

“Lately, one can notice, more and more frequently, within the Romanian society, the existence of a disrespectful attitude towards the authentic intellectual, towards <<the man of books>>. Justifications or explanations regarding a likewise attitude could be discovered (since almost a century ago) as pertaining to Spanish philosopher Ortega y Gasset who described, in an excellent manner, the intellectual’s status and mission in time. He noticed that the respective attitude is also present in conversation, in others’ talk. I tried to underline at the same time that a certain turn of phrase can either encourage or lead to an inadequate familiarity in relation with the genuine intellectual. Too often is forgotten that language is governed by a couple of intrinsic norms, that the way we speak must be in accordance not only with the topic of discussion and with its circumstances but also with the interlocutor’s status”, Professor Cristinel Munteanu explained.

Călin Rangu, a New Remarkable Participation at an Academic Event

Senior Lecturer Călin Rangu, Dean of the Economic Sciences and Business Administration Faculty, “Danubius” University, will deliver a presentation during the 23rd edition of the “RSEP International Economics, Finance & Business Conference”, scheduled to take place on the 25th and 26th of November.

The presentation entitled “Considerations on Digital Financial Ecosystem” is based on a homonymous article about which Călin Rangu told us the following:

“Firstly, this paper is aimed at presenting the components of a digital financial ecosystem, secondly – at presenting a couple of business and services models and thirdly – at discussing the evolution factors and involved risks. As a consequence, our study wants to identify domains prone to improve the already existing framework and to formulate proposals of adapting to new technologies. The research instrument is a complex survey used to reflect respondents’ opinions regarding the research topic. The digital financial ecosystem generated a new concept, that of  digital liquidity, with the purpose to support the business environment in terms of maintaining financial stability, integrating financial systems and remodeling the concept of economic benefits in a time unit. The business models designed by the interconnected partners are needed as response to users’ needs. The suppliers, the banks, the insurers, the investments or pension funds, the licensed institutions or the ones without license should create and distribute their products and services in a digital format. For products and services to reach the beneficiaries infrastructures, regulations and dedicated policies are needed to guarantee accessibility at reasonable costs. A digital ecosystem must facilitate interaction in a high security environment”.
